British Waterways (BW) has been accused of “forcing out” Hackney’s boaters after it announced plans to limit mooring times and impose fines for overstaying in an area close to the Olympic site.

Guardian: Razzie awards visualised using interlinked graphic

One of my first projects for the Guardian Data Store was using linked data to constructed a hierarchical graph of Golden Raspberry Award ("Razzie") recipients. The graph itself is constructed in Javascript through the Javascript Infoviz Toolkit.

Eyesight, for many, is something taken for granted until it is lost.

In North America, the majority of blindness is caused naturally by old age. However, the situation in Africa is quite a different story.

"In Africa, we have eight million people who are blind, and maybe three times that many who are severely visually impaired," said Dr. Daniel Etya'ale, executive director of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

To coincide with the release of a UN report on asylum seekers, I built two interactive maps showing change over previous year, both in terms of where asylum seekers were originating and where they were going. I also did a writeup on the report.
